It’s 2018, and we’re away on a ski trip.

I’m a successful Chartered Engineer who builds systems and solves complex problems for a living.

But something feels off. A lot of my family are business owners. I see them and others around me struggle.

They pour time and money into marketing, chasing lead after lead, yet they seem stuck in the same place, endlessly spinning their wheels.
And I can’t help but think: there must be a better way.

I started wondering if the engineered approach I use every day could be the answer to helping them escape this cycle of frustration.

One night (after a few beers), I decided to dedicate myself to helping businesses build effective lead generation processes.

Having spent over a decade in engineering, being responsible for bringing in business for a team of 20 engineers and then winning clients for my own engineering consultancy, I felt I had a good grasp on what was needed to help other businesses win. 

I dove headfirst into marketing, thinking I had it all figured out.

I worked with various companies, helping them generate leads. But here’s the truth — no matter how good their strategies were, many businesses were still stuck.

They could get leads but couldn’t convert them into clients.
It was frustrating — for them and me.

I felt like I was back to square one. What was missing?
Then it hit me: most businesses don’t have a lead problem. They have a systems problem.

They waste so much energy trying to get more leads, but without a proper system to convert those leads into paying clients, they’re stuck in an endless loop.

I realised they needed an engineered system.
One that doesn’t just focus on leads but also creates a process to nurture those leads and turn them into long-term customers.

It’s not about getting more leads. It’s about building the right system to convert them.

Now, I help businesses build predictable growth engines that run on autopilot.

That and spending time with my amazing wife and our two boys.

This was something that I noticed was a rare concept in the engineering sector.

However, this shouldn’t have come as a surprise because when we love what we do we can’t help but talk technical.
